Normally compacted and over-pressured intervals can be quickly identified on the semi-log plot
The modelled normal compaction trend line (NCT) can be easily manipulated to line up with the observed trend
Pore pressure can be read directly from the plot by means of the ‘Eaton’ overlay
No need to re-draft ‘Eaton’ overlay with each adjustment of NCT – the overlay moves in conjunction with NCT
